From polished professional to your friendly neighbor next door, Kimberly D’Armond has a vocal range that encompasses these two ends of the acting spectrum – and everything in between! Her work for Proctor & Gamble brilliantly illustrates her ability to combine the two acting extremes, which is no mean feat. Having "cut her teeth" by doing tv commercials and PSAs in her teen years, Kim is quick to grasp the demands of any spot, and knows how to deliver "on the spot." She has consistently proven her viability not only in the commercial marketplace but in animation as well.
Kim has a solid stage background, having worked with the renowned Children’s Theatre Company and School in Minneapolis. After that, she ventured to The Big Apple, attending the New Actors Workshop. There, she was directed by such Broadway icons as Mike Nichols, Gene Hackman and George Morrison, in addition to expanding her craft by studying improv with the legendary Paul Sills.
Venturing "across the pond," Kim was accepted into the prestigious Royal National Theatre of Great Britain's professional acting program where she studied under the tutelage of such luminaries as Ian McKellen, Henry Goodman and Selina Cadell. Moving (way) north, she worked in "rep" at the Uppsala English-Speaking Theatre in Sweden.
An accomplished lyric soprano, Kim has an excellent "ear" and, therefore, an extraordinary facility with a plethora of accents and dialects as well as a command of both the Swedish and French languages. She is a voice director’s dream in that she inherently understands the subtleties of tone, timbre and cadence and knows exactly how to "bring the copy home."
